Regarding a 4age

Is it ok to wire up both lift pump and main pump to the one power wire (black-red stripe)?

If it's a wire off the ECU then NO.

In this case the black/red wire should switch a relay which powers both pumps.

If the black-red wire is a power cable which is already switched by a relay then it may be ok. Check the current pull of both pumps and compare this to the current limit of the wire given its cross-sectional area (I'm sure there are tables around on the net with wire diameter vs allowable current). The cross-sectional area **should** be printed on the insulation on the wire.

You would want to have a pretty decent supply wire to run both the pumps. Ensure that its got a decent fuse on it too.

I have run a large wire from the battery that goes into two seperate relays (one for each pump) and used the trigger wire from the ECU to control the relays.

Its also important to have same size earth wiring.....Its all part of the same circuit.

As Hen said, if you run the pumps straight of the trigger wire from the ecu, then you are going to fry a few expensive components....
