    Default 3tc compression? (diff pistons)

    hi guys,
i have a question regarding stock 3tc pistons: how many different oem versions were there?
a friend and i recently picked up a 13t and it has different pistons to my mates old one and as far as i know they both had stock pistons?

this is the top of the 13t one (piston NOT at TDC yet):

and the top of a 3t one:

now i know its impossible to get an exacting answer but does anyone know which one may have better comp?

From memory, 13T pistons will not work with the 3T head and the 13T head is crap with a heap of emission gear.

Just by looking at the pistons I would have to say the 3T would have better comp. If you want to raise it up a bit more you could use the 2T head (smaller squish area) or in combination of decking the block and shaving the head plus using a thinner head gasket.

maybe the 13t dome is higher on one ide to make up the same comp as the 3tc piston?

i was just going to deck the head, i've been told you can go as far as 2mm? (if the head has never been milled before)

anybody know where to get a thinner HG?
