Hi,

I had a similar problem with the brake lights in my xx, when the headlights were on the rear brakes would come on solid, as if you were pressing the brake pedal, and actually pushing the pedal made no difference. It happened after I installed* my head unit, I think I must of tapped into the brake loom which caused a cross over in the circuit. I uninstalled it and few weeks later put it back in, but this time tapped into a diff power source and problem solved. Also check the wiring around the brake lights themselves, for some reason or another mine are a mess, a previous owner has tried to tapp into them for some unknown reason.. Loose bare wires everywhere!
