Hey guys ive got a weird problem going on with my brakes , Every time i hit the break my right hand blinker comes on the dash and the exterior lights- it doesnt flash but just stays on...
Its very frustrating at night time when braking and the right hand light comes on when tapping the brakes and cancells out any other blinker operation whilst brake pedal is pushed in..
Its only recently happened since i did a w58 conversion on my car !!!

Any Ideas if this is related or some other problem with an earth or something ?

does that side indicator turn on like the outside globes, did you connect your reverse lights and where did you splice into the wires for the reverse lights
it would be a bad earth anyway

it lights up but doesnt flash it does it soon as i tap the break pedal... I havent hooked up the reverse lights yet so it could be this.. Thanks mate i wouldnt of thought it was that as it was reverse lights

i thought it mite have been a simple wiring prob but if you havent touched it theres proly nothing wrong with it.
maybe its a crimpt wire from above the bellhousing.

Check all your globes too - I've had my dash and driving lights turn on with the brake pedal because the double filament taillight globes had blown and were touching the other filament, backfeeding through that circuit as well.

Hey guys ive check all the globes and all the connections i cant find nothing that could be causing this ? it never happened untill i did my hilux diff and w58 conversion but i cant see how this could affect it.

Another thing i noticed is when i pump my hazards on my brake lights flash with the blinkers WTF!!

There seems to be a short somewhere.. Where the brake line and right hand blinker power is touching.. So hard to find ive wingled and trace most of it.. Any ideas to make it easier to find the short ?

Also having problems with other lights.. My dash lights/parker lights and taillights dont come either now.. When i hit my hazards on my brakelights flash with my blinkers.. WTF need some help please guys what else could be doing this ?? never did it before.

Check the earth for your tail lights & get back to us.

Check fuses

Did you touch anything inside the car when doing the diff & gearbox?
Maybe you've damaged a loom when removing the centre console?

you've borked the earth for the indicator and park light circuits that feed to the dash - you've probably connected it to a 12V supply instead of earth.

re-trace/do all the wiring changes you made.

ive got alot of addons in my car... Mongoose alarm system , sms paging system , turbo timer setup.. I didnt do these a mobile auto alarm installer did these..i will try again thanks

Look at the alarm side of things.
Some alarms hook in to the brake light switch. ( to trigger if the pedal is pressed )
This could explain the hazard / indicator / brake lights & also the dash lights.
