Most mechanics wont touch this kind of thing, so itll probably be a "performance" mechanic that will do it. In my experience (in Townsville anyways) most of these cats are about as good as a backyard mechanic anyways. And they charge like a wounded bull at a bull fighter. You know you wanna do it yourself, its a really simple procedure, and can be done with a basic tool set. I must say that when removing ball joints, hit the item which has the hole, not the ball joint shaft. Most suspension places wont charge much if you take in anything which requires bushes pressed in and out, and offer cash as the payment. Machine work is reasonably cheep if you tell the machinist exactly what you want done, and take them a CLEAN item to be machined, and again pay cash.
After the installation is done, if you know the settings you want (how much camber etc) then a tyre shop wont charge much more than the normal cost of a wheel alignment to set it up.
