    I think OC is referring not to shaft angle, but rather that the gearbox and diff yokes need to be on the same plane eg. both plumb in order that the changes in velocity vs rotational postition (inherent in universal joints when run at any angle other than 0 deg) be anulled.

    5-10mm is fine. My 2JZ in the MX83 looks like its sloping back, but its really not.

    I agree with the others, but if you are really concerned can you put a spacer under the gearbox mount to raise it up slightly ..
    I pressume you are using a spirit level or similar to get your 5 - 10 mm incline angle ?
    As you said the angle of the gaurds etc can make it look a lot worse ..
