I have no issue with 5mm rake.
ok as some may have read in a previous thread of mine this week .....
i have used two GS300 2JZ mounts to get my 1JZ to drop strraight into my 89 (early cross-member) MX83 cressida.
okit works a treat but now its all bolted up i have one reall worry.
that is that the engine slopes back towards the fire wall...... id say 5mm.
nothing fouls on anything and the gearbox is attached with tail shaft hooked up .....under the car is perfect.
concern is that can this harm the engine laying at that angle. across ways is fine but its just the north west angle.
Will this cause the oil to keep draining back. maybe just add say 1/2 a litre oil over full?
It is a front sump engine so it can really lose much the rear due to it holding most in the pan on the high end.
i looked at how the same mounts work from 1JZ into the IS200. they claim it does the same thing....sits higher one end. (front). by about the amount. by thats all they say.
can anyone see and major problems with this situation i have?
i took some pics that i will post up from home tonight.
looking from the front it looks fine but from the side view u can really see it ....probably more cause eye vision and photos will kinda pick up the gaurds and gles making it look real bad. but with a level it it around 5-6mm approx.
any thoughs greatly appreciated.![]()
cheers

about 5-10 mm ...will climb under again tomorrow and take a pic if u like.
why u ask?
whats the normal?
JZX90 Lovin'
Yeah, thats normal.
I was just going to suggest that if its something stupid like 25mm then you revise your mounting methods.
But 5-10mm is fine.

i thought the same when i stuck the 2t in my ke36
but factory crossmembers engine and trans, factory rubber mounts and brackets engine and trans, so it's apples

sweet as ...yeah every where seems to have the right clearances. im sue it will be fine ...thought id grab a few opinions though.
well exhaust to go then to see if i can get myself in the oz's quickest 1JZ list lol.
look out 1JZ747 ....... joking .... not this year ....but next lol!

just angle your diff pinion at same angle.. or is it 2 piece shaft?

lol CruZ ! its a two piece shaft and yes IRS!
thinking about a single AU Coon alloy item now though.
will the two piece last with 300+rwkw?
and if i do 3400rpm stalled launches?
it has a new centre bearing if that helps lol.

with normal IRS, you have the engine angle and IRS pinion angle equal.....
but what happens if you angle one or the other? you still have funny uni joint issues
(that it is IRS makes little different to uni joint speeds)

regarding oil flow... 5mm tilt is probably equivalent to accelerating slowly.
hello
Note that you need some angle to ensure the needle rollers in the uni joints roll over slightly to spread the wear. If everything is straight the needle rollers won't roll and will wear a mark on the hardened spiders. You are probably better off with what you've got.
