Ignition system specs are in spec list

    M&W Digital ignition/1jz coilpacks

Will be going to my local tuner on the weekend with a list of things and see what he thinks.

Me thinks theres probably a few little things

Missed the ignition in the specs list. Hey what ratios are in the E58??

Your list mentioned close ratio e58, figured you meant something other than plain e58.

Wouldn't know 100% to be honest. I just pulled that from a specs list from the for sale ad.

And no it is not going to ping with a 8.1 CR... but any competent Tuner should also be listening for Knock electronically.

i am not following you here

the car is not working properly at 20psi.... so he should get it tuned to 30psi?

it doesn't look like it is boost spiking now, so why should he tune to 30psi? just to see if turbo runs out of puff ABOVE the level of boost he wants to run?

and you haven't explained, in detail, why you think he needs more cam based on that dyno graph? please do, in detail

The way I see it is the car has everything to run 20psi EASILY, it could take more boost. Just a small problem be it the tune or something like the plugs etc.

Will all find out in due time

what are you using to control boost? 38mm wastegate should be fine holding that, so maybe you need a good EBC (if you don't have one yet?)

I'd be intersted in a dyno graph of power vs AFR. 264 cams should be *plenty* to keep making power up there... perhaps there's a flow restriction somewhere in your inlet (exhaust all seems fine?). Wastegate is suitably mounted? realistically ignition or fuel are most likely.

Using a blitz IDIII EBC at the moment.

Only inlet restriction would be the 2" cooler piping from turbo outlet to IC but I doubt that would cause that.

More I think about it more I start to think it is fuel related as the I recall the previous owner mentioning something about a fuel dump or a fuel related thing high up in the rev range.

    Will do.

I understand that people sometimes do a small fuel dump close to red line for an extra safety measure but I would imagine that ideally it wouldnt cause a dip like shown in the dyno sheet.

Little things annoy me, the car can more then handle the 20psi(and more) but little problems grrr lol

Fuel pump - is it the Walbro's that have dodgy eGay china copies? You haven't got one of those and it's having a hard time keeping up? Need AFRs vs power as said above.

But i don't think a tune that richens out close to the limiter would give you such a sudden drop in power, or the other things mentioned worth looking at in that graph.

That waiver in boost at the top end of the rev range, are showing signs of the wastegate not being properly suited.

I know the dyno says its fluctuating but both the EBC and defi boost guage are showing 20psi steady.

Gar, will repost a new dyno sheet when I get one lol. Will def get a power vs afr.
