If you have to remove the plenum and lines when you do it on your car, factor in the time and cost for replacement gaskets if (and when) the gaskets break as you remove the plenum. After 30k, the plenum gasket gets mighty stiff and on mine usually rips,. I always change the gasket, because i always have to remove my plenum, however this is on a 2vzfe and in an early model Camry, so perhaps the 1mz is a little easier to get to the rear.

most of the gaskets on the newer engines are the metal type with a black coating.... pretty safe
