ORIGINAL POST
Hello!
I have been looking in to details to organise a track day at Eastern Creek and wanted to see if people would be interested....
Track Day
- This is not organised by a company, I am organising this so I can go out at Eastern Creek at less cost than booking privately or the hassle of coordinating the whole day myself. I am looking at booking spots through Driving Solutions if I get 25+ cars, the cost is between $200-$250 (if you book with them as a one off, it is $275/car)
- drive time is 20 minutes in every hour (although this seems like a short amount of time, the day goes from 9:00 5:00 so all up that is 3+ hours drive time. I am told a lot of people leave after lunch opening the track up for more drive time)
- no official timing
- no passengers
- lunch provided
Cost:
$220
there are no other costs (ie. Track licence) you will only need to have a standard drivers licence or CAMS licence
[B]Date:
- Wednesday 3rd December
Requirements:
Car:
- Street registered with drivers licence OR
- Race car with full CAMS licence
Driver:
- standard required safety gear (long sleeve shirt, long pants, shoes, helmet)
- drivers licence or CAMS licence
Track:
- Eastern Creek
- 4km track
- Start 9:00 (be there 8:30 for scrutineering)
- End: 5:00
- Marshall/Recovery included
- Up to 60 cars
- No extra licence required
- This day can hold up to 60 cars time on the track is 20 minutes/hour/group. Once the day gets on and people leave, you will get more track time
I know this is more expensive than the track cost of Wakefield, but remember for those who live in the Sydney area, you dont have to travel for 4 hours or stay overnight (so less petrol and other expenses) + it is Eastern Creek!
This is the first time I am organising one of these events, so I would love to hear peoples thoughts and suggestions!
Thanks
Ness
EDIT:
Date confirmed & booked - Wednesday 3rd December
Cost is $220 max.

R.I.P.
same as Justen, if its one piece after the next WP day, i'll deffinately be there.
put me down for a spot anyway,......if the celica dies i'll race the tarago for shits n giggles
Expressing interest.
Should be able to make either date with enough warning.
Great to hear!! I think given the number of things on in the next couple of months, I am leaning towards booking it for December 3rd. I will post more details closer...but let me know if you are interested or have any suggestions/comments and i will follow people up closer to the date
I have just been told that if we get enough numbers the day will be closed off to other people.
I have also confirmed max on track at a time is 20 and we will have use of the garages
Id prefer the september one if i had to make a choice, ill be racing in melbourne the last weekend of november..
How many do you need in order to have it closed off to "other people".. Under track day conditions id much prefer to be lapping with people that i know or who are accountable should the unthinkable happen..
Sounds good though
EDIT: Sweet they feed you as well

If i can get enough interest for the September one, more than happy to do it!!
Only prob is i have to make full payment 2 weeks prior, so i would need a commitment from 20-25 people prior to.
The reason i said i was leaning towards December is it gives people more time to prepare and get cash together for it - needing complete payment by mid November.
Up to everyone tho - if i can get numbers, we'll do it in September.
As for "close off the track" - the sessions are groups of 20 cars. So at least one session is just ours anyway. If we got upwards of 40 cars, then the whole day would be ours - broken up in to sessions.
yep, there is food!!
I'm in for 2 maybe 3 or 4 for Sep. Please PM me were to make the payment.
Hey guys, I have not booked either date as yet - if i can get enough interest for September I will go ahead and book it and make payment. So if you are keen for September, help me get the numbers up and I will make it all happen. Will need about 25 people to get the cost down. We can have as little as 1 but of course the idea is to make it as cheap for eveyone as possible...
if all goes well and september happens and works out, i will still be happy to run december as well
sept works for me aswell, just need a couple of weeks notice to tell the boss to get F@#Ked that im taking a day off,
I'd be keen, but again, to far off to make a commitment. I gotta sort out a handful of things before then... But if all goes well over the next couple months, dec is better for me, as its closer to my pay day incase something does break haha
Cheers,
Jase
In for December
thanks to everyone for letting me know youa re keen - would loe to get out to eastern creek!
for those keen on September - if we can get enough numbers by this Friday i will go ahead with it....otherwise pencil in December coz thats when ill run it.
September is just getting a bit close as i need to have collected everyone's money 3 weeks prior as i have to pay for it in full by then
Well i am definitely in for the 30th ..
