from what I have seen people use the toyota hi-lux rear axle, but i do not know from what year, and IIRC a supra LSD will fit?
"edit" lol oh Hi Conrad imagine meeting you here haha
Hi, I'm currently in the process of building up my 1987 JDM GTV AE86 with an F20C engine(Turbo) & gearbox conversion and realise that the rear axle isnt going to last very long lol.
What stronger options do I have?
What have other people used?
Ideally I still want a LSD, car will be used for circuit (grip) most of the time.
Cheers

lol Hello m8, fancy seeing you here.
Yeah, I looking for more specifics tbh, i.e direct fitment, what brakes, what diff etc.
Cheers
An option is the F-series. (7.5") diffs. Here's one I did.

Thanks Andrew, i will read with interest. Not sure if we got the MA Supra here in the UK, will have to look into it.
Cheers
I 'think' the ms112 crown rear axle is similar. Although it is rear drums and can be converted to disc's with a st141(???) rear brake setup. This is all second hand info from me though. Some of the AUS guys should be able to chime in to confirm. As I'm in the U.S. and we never got the crown after '74 iirc.
Or you can do some searching on this site.

MS110/112 diff is available with disc brakes factory, although drums were also available in some markets/models. Will need to swap over mounts and is around 40-50mm wider than the standard diff. Is also 5 stud but this may work well if combined with a front upgrade to match.

Hilux axle is big and heavy which is bad news for handling (unsprung weight); it's super tough but unless you're building a drag car it's overkill for the power/torque you're likely to be putting through it.
IMO the F series (Crown/MkII/Tarago) is a better option, a fair bit lighter but still plenty strong. There are a number of aftermarket LSD options available for it too.
