82 Toyota Dyna... Motor options?

My mate picked up an old Toyota Dyna yesterday (82 Model). It's an import model that came out with the trusty old 5R motor.

I was just wanting to see what options we have, that can adapt to the gearbox already in the car, so we don't have to fiddle around with linkages!

I've got a spare 21r-c that I could donate to, but I just want to hear other peoples thoughts, or if anyone has one of these, what they have done to make them a bit more car-towing friendly?

P.S I'm pretty sure the chassis model is an RU30 Dyna if that helps?
