    Default What thickness oil for a 500km old 4agte

    I've recently rebuilt my 4agte with standard 4agze internals. I have done 500kms on bursons running in oil and am ready for an oil change. what oil should i use for this engine? I don't like the idea of using a super thin oil but how thick is too thick?

    depends a lot on the build really. revs to? makes power...?

    I have a 60K kms 2j running 5w30 oil, and it doesn't burn any... but it never really sees much above 7K rpm.
    5/10w40/10w40 or 5/10w30 would be my guess for you. if you're burning any, go alittle thicker

    why not just use what is recommended by toyota for a 4A-GZE?

    use non sythetic stuff for another 500 or so km cos otherwise the ring arent going to be fully bedded then dunno maybe a 10w or 15w
    2T out 4A in....

    4A out 3VZ in. 3vzfe rebuild, RWD-ising, and conversion for ta22

    By rights you should stay away from synthetic for 10 to 20000 klm depending on the build . a 10 /30 is good for a fresh not to tight rebuild.
