Have you tried searching mate,
I'm fairly sure I remember reading about a similar problem or at least a very similar conversion on here, I'll have a look and put a link if I find it.
I've started fitting up a 1UZ (out of a celsior) into my 1991 SR5 extra cab luxy... 1 of my problems is that I want to get rid of the hydraulic fan pump off the engine because it sits about 2" (a sender/switch on pump) furtherest forward of engine. Now I've been told you cant just plug up pump cause it will sieze even tho it looks like it thermatically controlled?? If anyone one has any helpful ideas I'm completely open to em Cheers Scott
You need to either modify the pump to accept a normal sealed bearing (one that doesn't require oil) or you can bolt on a UZS131 Crown setup which doesn't have the hydro fan.

It depends on what ancillaries you want to run ..
I removed my hydraulic pump arrangement completely & blanked off the front cover hole, as i am just runing the alternator only, have made the alternator into a swing mount style & just customised an adjuster bracket for the alternator off the block, using a fairly short 3PK belt now, i couldn't get a 6PK with such a short belt ... But has never been an issue ...
Obviously a different story if you want to run power steering pumps & A/C etc ...
From memory if you used a crown setup its the complete front housing section of the motor thats different its not just a matter of bolting up a different pump .. Doable but a biggish job ..

As the Crown ones are getting harder to get (as mentioned above)
i would be looking at moding the one you have all ready
it shouldn't be to hard to fit a sealed bearing in the original pump
OR
if you have enough room between the pully and radiator to leave the original one on there
pull it apart and take the vains out.
run a loop hyd line between the inlet and out let . But fill the pump with oil first
Then the oil will lub the bearings
give it a go it has to work
get you mate to look up the partnumber for this 2uz fan housing, out of landcrUZerOriginally Posted by boshy
I have purchased 2 complete units (as above) without any issues from Toyota. Its a straight swap and they had them in stock. (recently)
If your mate works at toyota he should be able to help you out.
Wow so the 2UZ has the same hub thing as the UZS131
Dave
be prepared to seperate with about $600 odd for the complete setup with the pulley though.
