3SGTE isnt that hard. 4AGZE/4AGTE is super easy
Hey all has or is there any info on getting a sr20det to fit into a aw11 mr2.
I have come accross a gtir that is to be wrecked and was wondering if this is possible.
I have done some ruff measurements and it seems it will fit in the engine bay easy enough.
Will this conversion be worth it, i know it will have a crap load more power..
Surely someone has contemplated this before...
Cheers guys..

yeah i havent seen one but i cant se why you would, there are enough othr engine swaps/setups that are easier and better documented for a comprable/better engine anyway.
HAHA..
Yeah i know it has a heavily worked smallport supercharged motor in it atm, but tax time is here and just lookin for something a little different, and a 3sgte is goin to cost me alot more..
Cheers..
probaly not once you factor in the cost of the custom fabrication required for the SR where the 3s is a relativly straightforward job with off the shelf parts avaliable and lots of previous conversions so lots of information
Ok well what motor is goin to produce 200 to 250kw and fit in there then..
very hot 4agte, warm 3sgte
That's alot of power for a car with a wheelbase as short as an AW11!!Originally Posted by stan
Thats my aim tho dude, however i have now decided to build a full on na motor rods, pistons, valves and springs, 320 in and out cams, and im goin to be running a power fc and quad throttles, with loads of porting and machining. My aim is to try and get the motor reving to around 14000rpm. dunno how much power this will make but you cant beat the sound of a race bred na motor.
If anyone has any ideas for me please let me know...
Oh and if the motor dont make enough power or make me smile it will be in the for sale section soon..
Cheers guys....
Why limit yourself to 14,000rpm??Originally Posted by stan

+ "full on na motor (20kw) rods (4 x 1kw each), pistons (4 x 2kw each), valves (20 x 1kw each) and springs (20 x 1kw each), 320 in and out cams (320/10=32kw each), and im goin to be running a power fc (50kw) and quad throttles(4 x 5kw per throttle), with loads of porting (loads of kw) and machining (loads more kw)"
= ~460kw ++ at the flywheel
Dont confuse the poor fellow, he is only a car audio installer...
how about installing a C18 i know its a little low in the hp range... only 700.. but im sure you'll make do. the conversion to diesel wont be hard though just get six individual VL turbo pumps and you can get rid of that pesky injector pump
Stan's a man with a dream and I want to see that dream realised.
