I have to ask, why? The breather is to stop air pressure fluctuations in the sump, which you will find is vented via the drain on the intake side.
i am looking at putting an oil breather on the rear end of the exhaust side cam cover, just wondering how other people have done it?
obviously there should be some sort of baffle there to stop the oil splashing into the line (like on the intake side) but not totally sure how to do it. was considering getting a little L bracket welded in there with a gap at to top, but i still think oil will be splashed into it
any ideas?

You can put the a inlet one on the exhaust side giving you two factory breathers, however also two oil caps.
Even though the factory points may not flow enough as what u need.
the thought did cross my mind, but i would rather go to the extra effort. im just trying to make sure that its all getting out easily, and can flow out either side of the head.
Here is a tip for young players![]()
You can put a breather fitting here (see pic) quite easily. Just drill a hole a tap a thread for the fitting to screw into.
You wont need a baffle either! as the factory cam cover webbing (inside cover) is designed in a way that it actually blocks the last part of that cam cover from the splashing cams but allows for air to pass.
I used to run a breather there in the early days before things got out of control.

That's exactly what I'm planning to do. Just gotta get the fittings now.
was trying to avoid putting it on top, its fwd so trying to keep that neat
I think you are confused ??? the breather used to be where that blanking plug is.
Where the green arrow is pointing.
TERRA: what way are you planning to do it ? the same as the brass blanking plug at the back of the cam cover or the speed flow fittings?

oh im on the level now, was distracted by the shiney speed flow fittings on top! yeah where the green arrow is, is where im planning on putting it. so you had no issues with oil slashing into the line there?
Speedflow fittings. I plan to have them joined to a T piece (if it'll fit...) then a single line to the can.
Is that car an Escort?
Nah you will be sweet at the back there.Originally Posted by fandio
