seem pretty cheap for 300 does that come with all the senders required or is that just for the actual cluster, come to think of it for 300 it maybe a type which piggy backs off the ecu to get the information rather then coming off of senders.

I dont think it would really suit a ra28 but if you like them go for them

    300... cheaper.....

doesn't matter what other people think.. do you think you would like that to be your information source when driving?
i like needle gauges and would probably go basic VDO (or DEFI black with lotto ) but if you like the digi gauges (are they in KM/hr and deg C? or mph and deg F?) then go for it

    you can always change later

yes $300 ...cheaper, and they are available in degrees C and KPH with all senders.

Thanks for replies.......going the needle type I think, the digi ones will be out of place a little too much.

meh, they can still look ok.. not a huge difference between blacked out digi gauges, and blacked out dial gauges (not that the SW are blacked but..)

I would agree with you. If you were going completely wild like some people do completely changing dash and clusters it can work. Some of the americans hot rodder guys are redoing stuff like corvettes with updated mechanicals, the redoing dashes and interiors with digital guages. As part of a complete package where everything else screams Futuretech it can work. However we're usually talking really big money and almost art quality workmanship to make it look as a choice. I think the digital will also age quickly e.g. as tech improves what was new looks old quickly like digital watches a few years back look kitsch now.
If you change your mind though as oldcorollas said it is your choice.

I'm with oldrollas and prefer the old school needle gauges but i think that even defi ones are too modern. Something like VDO would be perfect but if your set on digital ones then dont be discouraged as they can definately be made to work in an old car (aesthetically speaking).

The Digital ones you have there are Dakota Digital guages, and they are really nice in a similarly built vehicle ( Retrotech ). I'm planning on a Celica with a rebuilt dash and Dakota Digital guages, however the rest of the car will be similarly retrotech.

Other than that I'd be going with needles.

Smiths classic / cobra gauges ftw, pricey though.

Hard decision.. I'd go with the needle, just because in my eyes the 28 will always be a classic. Of course I dont know what kind of mods you've made on it already, but it'll still have its classic/old school charm enhanced by the needle set.
Ultimately its up to your personal preferance of course..
