At a guess i would try autronic +ve out to +vr on the BIM, with -vr grounded.
Hi all, for testing purposes I am trying to bypass my MSD and run 2x BIM024 ignitors to fire 2x dual post coil packs.
Haven't problems getting it working..
I am unsure if I should use the pin 3 or 7 (-vr or +vr) on the BIM module with the autronic ignition outputs.
Also if I set the autronic to use -ve or +ve output.
Please help
Thanks
Joel

Oh, remeber that when you fire a reluctor ignitor like this, that it might fire at a different time to when the autronic actually gives it the rising (or falling) edge.

Hmm I think I was meant to get a BIM137..
yep, 137 is the replacement for the 008 igniter found in an early camira. the 024 you got has no dwell control as it needs to be told what to do ie 3ms or so.

-ve edge trigger, the SMC has a 70/30% signal on the ignition output so this does the dwell control for you.
let me know how you go tonight.\
cheers
