Default Susspention + Brakes for 07 Yaris.

I'm looking to lower a Yaris over a very wild set of 15 x 9 inch dished steel wheels wearing 195/45 15 tyres. I need to get this car as low as possible. The rims will be hanging out he gaurds, and the tyres should be just about matching the gaurds ( the tread face anyway).
Any sugestions? I know the tyre package will not be legal, but thats for me to worry about. all i need to know, is what susspention i should be using? The springs will need to be very stiff, and i will need to do sway bars as well, i need to limit the amout of rol to zero.

Brakes. Is there a way to do diskd on the rear? If i'm going to have people looking at these wheels, i don't want them looking through the rims to see drums on the rear. Is there a big brake set i can fit to the front? That will clear a 15" wheel?

Sounds like it is going to be nice to drive on even a moderately rough road.

progressive rate springs are as stiff as they go.. even under load the springs compression is very limited..

some yaris have that option of 4 wheel discs.. the fronts i'm quite sure are all the same.. u might be able to get something from the wreckers? not necessarily a yaris.. 15 inch wheel hmm.. u could butcher a celica or so for the 4 wheel discs, and it'll definitely clear 15 inch wheels, only it's a 5 stud instead of the yaris' 4 stud

I don't mind swaping for a 5 stud, the wheels will basically be custom jobs anyway. is there a celica with suitible stub axels in a 5x100 pattern?

I'm going to use a VW steel wheel, and they have pretty big holes in them, And i prefer to see a nice shiny disk than a drum, no matter wat color it is. How do those covers get mounted?

Um 195's on a 9'' rim, your kidding i hope? thats just plane dangerous and dumb, and i would be surprised if a tyre shop would even try it.
If you want zero roll, and very low, remove the struts and replace with solid bar, not legal, but nor is the rest.

    Yeah, don't do it.
The suspension geometry on a FWD is pretty critical and you'll very surely foul it up by doing all that.
Find someone that knows a lot about FWD geometry near you and get them to help you design a proper suspension setup.

the idea of progressive rate springs is actually that they are softer and more compliant in the first few cm of travel for comfortable on road manners .. fail

also i sell new yaris for a living, and no aus delivered yaris comes with rear discs, optional or otherwise. so you won't find anything at the wreckers for rear discs in current shape yaris... fail x2

Stiff suspension in a FWD generally means fuck loads of under steer.

    Do a 195 on a 8 inch rim, A 195 on a 9 is pushing it.

i could've sworn that progressive rate springs have less travel overall than normal rated springs.. was told it went something like.. first cm = 4 kg, next cm = 8 kg etc etc.. oh well i guess i learned something new...

and yeh ads on tv and all that say the yaris has all these features e.g. abs, ebd etc etc, and they had so many models.. guess i'm wrong on both counts sorry for the wrong info

Yeah, as SeptemberSquall said, no rear discs. I service them for a living

Though the Yaris rear drums are better than the Echo, cos they are adjusted by the normal toothed wheel. Echos you have to lever one of the shoes sideways with very little force to adjust. If you go one click too far you have to go all the way back to the start.
