If you are worried about two month old fuel - forget it. It's not going to deteriorate in that time.
Hi guys
Im going to drop my fuel tank soon and give it a good clean out
How do you go about dropping the fuel tank ??
Also, whats the best way of cleaning your fuel tank ??
My car has been sitting in the workshop for about a month and a half now and the fuel i put in it before it went into the shop was a few weeks old before that (so about 2 months old)
I wish i had a workshop manual...
Any info is great

hows the condition of your fuel filter? if its royally gummed up, i'd think about dropping the tank, but if its not too bad its a bit of a waste of time
up to you though of course

Another vote for not worth the time. However, if you feel the need to empty the old fuel, undo the plug underneath. If you're worried your tank might be dirty (which is unlikely), drain the fuel and see if there's any crap in it. If there is, then drop your tank and clean it. It should be pretty obvious how to take it out. Undo electrical leads to pump & sender - accessed through the boot; remove cover if applicable; undo straps holding tank in; let tank fall on head
I put a pump in my 25yr old sprinter and the tank was almost perfectly clean. Just the slightest amount of crap on the bottom of the filter.

Chris
