    Default ma61 lsd rebuild

    whose done it? costs involved?

is there a rebuild kit from toyota, or do you have to order specific parts?

looking to do it myself, have disassembled/reassembled similar lsds before successfully so im thinking along the line of if i can get the parts at an ok price i might give it a go and see how it turns out.

Wayne on here has sourced all the bearings etc from Toyota for his Tru-trac upgrade... no idea on the clutch packs etc, afaik most people seem to go locker or torsen, rather than rebuild the factory unit.

yeah, prefer a clutch type lsd if i were gonna spend that type of money, which is whats being considered but if its only a few hundred dollars in parts, ill try it.

chase up someone with the EPC.

my guess is youll have to obtain the parts individually. since its not a camry the chances of getting a rebuild kit is slim

I'd like to 'shim' / redo mine at some stage, this is pretty well what I was thinking...

From having one apart previously, mine had a significant amount of wear on the 'Clutch Members'.. a round circle of wear caused by the 'Clutch Member Thrust Washers'...

I was planning to face the 'Clutch Members' and then shim the 'Clutch Member Thrust Washers' to get the correct (factory) spider gear clearances...

There really isn't any need for the 3 'washers', as they are all captive, they are really just shims...

And I think that the wearing 'washers' can be swapped from left to right sides to give a new friction face...

Then measure, and shim (or buy new adj washers) accordingly...

    Cheers

ok guys, this is what you will need parts wise - for full rebuild. im in the process of doing this with the trutrac lsd centre, so i thought might aswell freshen it all up while im at it

    toyota part numbers:
    90366-35023-77 inner pinion bearing
    90366-30078 for the outer bearing
    90368-50006 carrier bearing (2 required)
    90311-38010 pinion seal
    90311-38011 side seals(2 required)
    41182-22011 cover gasket
    41231-22010 crush sleav
    90179-18001 pinion nut

    hope it helps.

    DenZel,

Can you post up the numbers off the bearings that you take out... they will be much cheaper aftermarket

Also my understanding was that you needed different (Not factory) carrier different bearings for the Turtrac?

My bearings seem fine so I'm happy to leave them, I'm just interested in writing 11's as opposed to 1's

    Cheers

Either the stock diff or the True trac has 45mm or 50mm ID bearings. That's why you need those bearings. Everything else are stock parts.
