Fixing roof lining...

Heya.

Boring subject, I have the usual Camry roof lining problem, where the lining now sits on my head as I drive. What's the easiest way to fix this? I was thinking some form of spray adhesive that I could just pull back one corner, spray in and push it back up. I don't want to take the whole lining out and I don't really want to pay someone... unless you know of someone cheap. In Brisbane btw.

i fixed my sister in laws corolla not long with spray adhesive you need to make sure you remove the flaking foam if any from both surfaces so that they will stick together again its abit of a fiddly job but will work the corolla i did sits outside all the time in sun and has not come apart

Where did you get the adhesive? I'm having real trouble finding some. Autobarn, Supercheap and Repco don't seem to be the right guys for this job.

bought spray adhesive from Auto one and i have bought some from bunnings that worked also

The easiest way to fix....Thumb tacks!
Seriously though, it will be difficult to fix properly without taking it out. The foam inside will be rotten and needs to be removed to get adhesive to stick properly. Then if you don't replace it with new fabric, you'll probably get glue showing through to the inside as you will be sticking fabric to the backing instead of foam.

Was going to say thumb tacks myself, without taking the piss... costed me less than $1 for a packet big enough to hold the whole roof of my Magna back up, and they hold everything tightly in place... and passed a RWC like that too!. Only depends how much you care about looks... driving a half-dead TR Magna hardly counts in this department

If you do care about how it looks, it's well worth the money to remove the lining yourself and get a pro to re-do it with new fabric for you.

Get 3M spray adhesive from Bunnings (or other hardware stores).
Far better than other no-name brand stuff ive tried before.
Of course, being 3M, its a little exy though
