Default 1 and 2JZ idle stepper motors

Hi, does anyone know if the 1 and 2JZ GTE idle stepper motors are the same?

I need one for a 2JZ-GTE and don't know if they are interchangeable.

    Cheers

    Grant

    Get a 7M or a Nissan motor.

Grant, you going to run an aftermarket ecu at all?

Not much can control a toyota idle motor.

It will be running a Haltech. So if the Toyota one won't talk to it, what other options are there for the 2J?

I asked about what people were using previously and it seems that most people aren't using one. Just crack the throttle a bit instead.

Alternatively, a simple 2 wire one that is programmed to open up to a certain temp or below certain revs should do the job.

Haltech can control them. Unfortunately the VVTi 2JZ has idle control built into the throttle body which is also electric.

I've since swapped over to an early style 2JZ plenum and throttle body but it was missing a stepper motor.

Does anyone have one for sale?

    Cheers

I have a 1jz one I think at home. If you find out if it is the same, let me know I have never seen the 2jz one.

    I've got a spare 2JZ-GTE non-VVTi ICSV here.
PM me a reasonable offer if you're still after one.

1JZ-GTE and 2JZ-GTE ICSVs are somewhat different and not interchangeable.

Ford XF Falcon Idle Speed valve is the one of choice for Autronic users.

    So haltech controls VVTi now?

Manny, i'll let you know in the next day or two if i need one. Cheers

Blacksupra, the Haltech can control the idle motor very well (close to factory according to my wiring guy) and we will be working on the VVT-i control.

I wasn't keen on the Ford unit as i want to keep it as clean (factory looking) as possible.

Well before the twins go on that is.

    Cheers guys

    Grant,

Keep us informed re the Haltech and the VVTi control. It would be a real shame to not be able to use it all because of the ECU choice.

I was under the impression Haltech could switch a VVT set up but not VVTi. Pretty sure that is still only available with the Motec or Autronic SM4 Labels ???

*signing up to thread* I too was under the assumption the Haltech couldn't control the infinetly variable timing, just the standard VVT switch stuff. I too thought only the Motec or Autronic models could control it properly. Will be interesting.

Its still early stages with the VVTi control through the Haltech.

I'm more than happy to have Haltech use the car as an R&D mule.
