MZ20 Soarer starting problem

Done, problem fixed and all it cost me was a 4 pin relay and a pack of spade terminals. In fact, works well enough to highlight a gearbox problem

If not rooted at least not happy, it starts first time every time now though

I'd presume the MZ20 has a starter relay somewhere - can you hear it clicking when you turn the key to start?
(I know the problems fixed now, just curious)

Only thing clicking was the circuit opening relay when I turned the key (aside from the solenoid of course)

maybe its the bushes on your starter motor/s... ???

Nope, it was just voltage drop through the wiring to the solenoid trigger. all fixed with a $15 relay
