speed cut defender? where does it wire into the loom of the car, specifically what wires on the ecu, trace them back and see on your wiring diagram what they are, should give you a decent indication of what it does ;-)
Hi all,
Stripping down my dash to install an alarm and tidy up loose wiring, i find this...
Anyone know what it is?

I cant tell where its wired in, its very tight in there and i dont want to dig too much.
What i can see though is that its wires go straight into the ECU plug... there are no wire joins, etc. Strange.
The 8pin IC in the box has had its label sanded off![]()

it's almost certainly a something-cut defenderwork out which pins it goes into on the ECU and that will tell you (speed sensor, MAP sensor, crank angle sensor, etc)

what car is it that you're working on? and yeah, what pins does it go to?
I have a few ECU pinout diagrams lying around...

Its a FCD.... i traced the wires.
Well, i assume its a FCD as it intercepts the MAP sensor signal.
Funny, if it is an FCD, when i bought it the car had two.
This one, and one that was installed in the engine bay![]()

you had a good defence then eh![]()
Heh, not any more
Both have been removed.
Im not going to be going near the 14psi cut, so they are not needed.
Not that it could go near 14psi anyway, the wastegate actuator on the CT9 is weak... it starts opening at 10psi.
