Many 6 cylinder kits available in Australia. Hardest bit would be to make up a manifold to bolt them to. I'll be honest, 48mm would be overkill - 45 would be adequate.Originally Posted by oldcorollas

but i guess the same could but said about potential flow at the lower end of the rev range. you make the intake to large and the air that enters the throttles and into the head is greater than the engine requires untill the revs get higher causing it to bog down and not produce as much torque potentially.Originally Posted by ed_jza80
tweakit.net in australia have two different kits available for 1800 and 2200
the 2200 one is to suit tripple doec weber manifolds.

and this ones just make it up as you go.

but then again finding some GTR or ae101 ITBs might work out alot cheeper than buying a kit like this and then building manifolds on top of that.
altho, these look pretty tempting

thats incorrect thinking. throttles dont push air in, and engine sucks it in. it doesnt care what size throttle there is.Originally Posted by xcedricx

throttle is exactly that a thing that 'throttles' the flow down the ports

does the 1J have the injectors in the head?
if so, surely there is a webber manifold somewhere.. then get some dead carbs and use them.. should be cheap?

There's actually a mob that use ST ITBs on JZs - they make a manifold for them too. There's a pic of a VVTi 1JZ with them all nicely set up too. Have link somewhere.
Why don't you just buy a VVTi 1JZ and do that? They come with beautiful headers too. Would absolutely shit all over a 1G.
The pop up on ebay occasionally - one sold on there last week for $500.

ahh thats fair enough, i always saw it as something like sucking a drink through a straw and a... larger dia. strawOriginally Posted by ed_jza80
, harder to drink with the larger straw than the smaller one till theres more force behind it to draw it in. like throwing alot of wood on a small fire and expecting it to all burn at once.
but i guess that only counts if there no head work done to accomadate the increased volume coming into the head.
im rather interested if you still got them, might send ya a PM.Originally Posted by oldcorollas
