i think you have your japanese fads mixed upusually they are 250 bikes

no, it will be no slower than a 1gge with a stronger bottom end![]()
and i know, go turbo cuz it will be slow otherwise, no point, 1jz is better, etc...
but its just an idea to build a stronger engine using the parts i already have and a few extra dollars thrown in to make it work properly. stronger bottom end would make it safer to sit on the limit and hopfully if increasing the CR i could make it a bit higher than a std. 1gge while im at it (pending on HG's and what parts i need decked etc...)
if it makes people happy ill put turbos in my uzz10 once its builthahaha

ahh i thought you were talking about the bosozoku (the bike guys that rev at traffic lights)not the dorifto kiddies
hmm, not many boso's around here lately.. maybe they grew up and got jobs
i'm all for making the most of what you have, but.. maybe you don't need to make any more than what it is...
unless either the NA rods have a habit of popping at rpm, or the pistons have a habit of falling to bits...
just remember.. not much poitn committing to NA if you will go turb later... unless you get mildish cams (256/264?).. ITB could be done cheap and still fun.... but maybe better not to change the comp past what you want for the FI version later?
i reckon just whack it in and have fun![]()

lolz... the police craked down on it from what i hear, or it just moved more underground, if you could call it that, there seams to be a lot of cars still around and more being built (i get champ road and im always looking at the sites)
im not aware of them being a problem, will look into it tho.
i have a few ideas about ITB's atm but that will come in down the track once this is all going, its going to be kept at a streetable car so i wouldnt go massivly lumpy cams but could be an idea.
this engine wont be FI, when i go FI (i.e. once ive had my fill of NA's) ill get a different engine for sure or turbo/supercharge my 6m or 1uz.
ahh ok.... grab a couple of sets of 4A TB's or some RB26 TB's and go for gold![]()

There's a set of Yamaha ITBs on ebay at the moment - no bids and less than a day left on them. Fuck all on them too. I'd grab them for toss value but if you could get another set for the same price....
i see the ones your talking about
doesnt say what size they are tho (need more searching i guess) they come in 38mm, 40mm and 42mm (rare apperently)
also been reading that since the 1g head flows rather well and being 6cyl its an over kill to use anything over 38mm with out major work to make them work. which is crap since ae101 ITB's are 43mm and are AFM, and rather cheep (not as cheep as thoes R1 ones tho)
also seams running ITB's is a big no-no with the Std. computer. and produces a flat spot where the TVIS system kicks in... yo.
*EDIT*
found some info on that ITB set up on the 1g on the first page.

hey ed, read your thread a few times and what ive gotten out of it is build an engine to an defined outcome, just in the process of figuring out what that is.
old rolla's, i got that much, i was looking for what type/brand they are using. doesnt look like any toyota ones... maybe gtr? aftermarket?
good read - http://autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=3049
sounds like GTR itb's might be the way to goInterestingly, Mr Gischus points out that OE Nissan individual throttle systems have a small vacuum passage in each bore which connect to a shared log-type chamber. This chamber stores a vacuum signal that’s strong enough to assist the brakes and provide a load signal to the fuel pressure regulator. Idle speed is controlled by a stepper motor bypass.![]()

you are looking at $2K to $3K or over for a kit.

from that article (referring to ITBs)
that sounds like such crap. throttle size has near nothing to do with torque in th low end, and it only influence on tourque in the high end is if theyre too small to accomodate all potential flow“If the throttle bodies are too big you’ll find that drivability deteriorates. And, really, in the majority of cases, you’ll also find you’ll lose some bottom-end torque - that’s why we don’t suggest individual throttles in a car with an automatic transmission.”
