    Default T&F series question

    hi,
has someone tried to fit f series diff and axles in AE86 T series housing (with rear discs, using F series carrier?)?
    Regards.

    I thoroughly doubt it.

The axles are about double the size and the bearing od's are probably bigger so if you were to try it you would probably need to weld on some new bearing carriers. My F series also runs a double row bearing which i havent seen any t series diffs use. The rear caliper brackets are probably different also.

If you would like i will get some measurements of my f and t (celica) diffs and get back to you but i highly doubt theyll be interchangable.

Assuming you can get an f series center and axles then you probably can get a complete diff which is what i would suggest. They are available in very suitable lengths for sprinters and some come with discs as standard.

thanks, I would like to have the measurements ... according to aftermarket part supplier wheel bearing for AE86 have the same inner dia as F series axles... but I doubt it's true.

MX13 F series runs single row axle bearings and is 1425mm wide with drum brakes.
MS112 is F series with double row bearings, around 1450mm wide and disc brakes.
JDM sprinter T series diffs run a double row bearing (both zenki and kouki, there may be some that run a single row like an RA60 but you'd need to research that).

I'm not sure about the inner bearing diameters but I'd be surprised if the F series is the same as T series. The MX13 F series and ra60, ra40, t18 etc T series diffs run a 72mm od axle bearing. (I can measure mine to double check these if you get serious). MS112 F series may have a larger than 72mm od axle bearing, I have not measured one.

Ta22 t-series has 62mm od axle bearings like an adm sprinter s series.

Another issue is whether the 7 inch crown will fit in a T series (6.7 inch) housing. Will the pinion line up? Probably not.

MX13's are hard to find, best to research cutting down a MS112 diff as you get discs with it.
