    Default PCV Valve question

    Engine: 1jz
Intake side cam cover piping is stock
Exhaust side is currently just open off the cam cover. I want to fix this.

Is there supposed to be a PCV Valve on the exhaust cam cover side that goes to the air intake pipe? Can I simply just run a piece of piping from cam cover to air intake pipe or would this suck out too much crank case vapours for example, when on boost and the turbo is sucking air out of the air inlet?

    Thanks
    Chris

*edit: don't want to use a catch can. Want it to be as close to factory as possible and nice and legal*

A catch can is legal as long as its not open to atmosphere - but just having one might be too much of a defect magnet (this for the 1J Cressida?)

Yeah I know but I just want it as stock looking as possible. And easiest possible way. Yeah, for the Cressida.

Yeah stock is exhaust cam cover to intake before the turbos, its there to give you vac crank case on boost, the intake does it on idle. Tho Like big zop said aslong as the catch can is plumbed back its legal. Mine is all hooked in both cam covers into catch can - extra large single out to intake pre-turbos.

use a stock looking can.... like.. i dunno.. power steering fluid pot, or some other device about same size...
or make up a simple can, with in pipe halfway down, some stainless washing up srub things, and weld the top on.. and paint black...

but yeah as said, it is the outlet for when on boost.. but also the air inlet for when intake is in vacuum.. air has to go both ways.

Too easy. New pipe with no valve has been fitted
