Corona RT142 (22re), Hilux's hot sure which ones up to about 1994 had non efi's generally, and Ra65(22re), also 4 runners had the 22re in some models.
Looking to buy a donor car to rip a 22R or RE out of for RA60, which cars should I look for?

If in doubt power out
ur going to have to swap the battery in the ra60 to the other side if you intend to use the factory airbox or even just have a simple air intake...
i thought the ra60 had a 22re in it? are you looking to replace the existing one with a better condition 22re? or have i got my facts all wrong![]()

ta22 Green with cream vinyl roof, 2t/3t hybrid with a few go fast bits on + 5 speed.
RA65 would be the best bet as it's practically the same car as your RA60, so you can grab all the bits you need - including the EFI fuel tank.
Having said that, why not just buy a complete RA65? They're cheap as dirt these days.

gerald - RA60 has 21r-c, an even bigger bucket of puss than the 22r-e
the ra65 had the "deluxe" options - efi, irs, decent headlights
Bah just get a Avante Corona with IRS that way you get 4 wheel discs great lights (driving lights on top of high beam ftw) and cheap as shit.
If in doubt power out
Ive recently done the 22RE into RA60 conversion, well worth doing IMHO. I used motor etc from RT142, moved the battery but not the relay box (removed pollution crap) and used a pod air filter... am yet to make the CAI for it. Car is being fitted with RA65 headlights and bonnet in the nearish future. Goes really well now for a N/A single cam truck motor.
RA65 had a better wiring arrangement for the loom, as the AFM wires were packed with the rest of the motor loom, instead of running under the guard. Either RA65 or RT142 tank will fit in, RA65 fuel line should fit perfectly (RT142 item took some bending to fit). I made a new battery tray out of 1.6mm sheet gal, and its strong as an ox, and the battery doesnt budge.

nah, this is to replace the aeforementioned (and shite) 21R-C It really is crap (and blown)...
RM.
P.S. What's an Altezza 6 speed worth these days?
too much to put in any car powered by a 22r-e![]()
Altezza six slotter is reserved for the likes of my upcoming (eventually) SA23, and other such vehicles which are worth more than the box. I think they go for about a gorilla ish

Hahaha...nah, I was thinking of a 3S. This is to be a rally car, so we'll need a 1600 or a 2ltr. The 22R was just to keep it on the road while we financed the build
RM
Well, 3S is a deserving motor, but RA60 is probably too ugly to house it
