Default Problems with Fuel cut 2j

    hey dudes
i've got a hks fuel cut in the cressida..but it still hits fuel cut..
could this be due to the wastegate being too small with the 3inch exhaust/highflow turbo's..?

    cheers dudes!

if you have a fuel cut defender then it shouldnt 'hit fuel cut' regardless of boost.

my homemade FCD avoided fuel cut even above 20psi (by accident).

Like you said its probably due to overboosting caused by the wastegate being shit .
If you put a restrictor ring in the exhaust the problem should be better i think 2/12 -2/1/4 is about right

A 2JZ with a custom dump pipe will need a restrictor to prevent boost creep. I needed to do it in mine otherwise boost would keep going up and up.

This is a separate issue to fuel cut though, if the FCD is working you should not be getting fuel cut no matter what.

    maybe its fake rev limiter?

if you have the fcd wired in properly you sholdnt get any fuel cut.

if its fuel cut then you will get the engine light flashing when it happens, if its fake rev limiter you wont.
fake rev limiter can be solved by using a jza80 ecu.

you will need a restrictor, look in my members rides thread i used a restrictor plate rather than a modified zorst, so i can take it out when (or if) i get the wastegate problem sorted.

the other thing you can do is unplug the tps and take it for a drive.

i think the car will stay in first, but you can give it a good rev and if its the ecu fake rev limit, it WONT happen with the tps unplugged.

cant think of what else it could be though....

    ืno i dont think so

it will think the throttle is closed the whole time or something?

anyway its just a quick test to see if thats the problem.

actually maybe it will change, i cant really remember i just took my car for 1 quick run to see if it fixed the problem, i didnt really play around with the gears, but all i can remember is that i wouldnt put up with driving without tps.
