    Statement proven by detonation!

So what's the pre-mods output like as a comparison? Do you expect that you can adjust the tune to remove detonation without adversely affecting power in a significant way?

It's hard to describe. There's no immediately noticeable power difference, but above say, 5000rpm the engine begins to feel more powerful than before, and is happy to pull hard and cleanly all the way to redline, even in higher gears.
Prior to the piston upgrade, and with the standard pulley, it felt strained at higher revs once the supercharger had run out of steam.

It should be on the track this weekend, and that will give us the best impression of it's new performance.

I'm not so sure about alleviating the detonation problem, hopefully we won't be doing a lot of driving under 2500rpm

Well, as predicted it went bang!

Some valve damage to the pistons.
One piston has a chunk out of it.

    Experiment over, status: failure.

Kudos to those who predicted this outcome!
