    Thanks for that,

    Here are the codes :

    Transmission :

62 - Severed No 1 solenoid or short circuit - severed wire harness or short circuit
63 - Severed No 2 solenoid or short circuit - severed wire harness or short circuit
64 - Severed lock-up solenoid or short circuit - severed wire harness or short circuit

    That is quite disturbing.

    Engine :

    21 -

And yes the codes might have built up, so i'll have to find out how to reset the error codes.
Do I have to take the EFI fuse out for a certain amount of time?

pull the battery neg lead for a minute or two, then double check that both engine and trans codes are cleared.

Oh this is what I did,

I pulled the EFI fuse out for a minute then put it back in.

Now I checked for codes and there is no engine codes, but there is only 1 transmission code there, the others are gone.

The transmission code that remains is 64.

I then pulled out the fuse again for a few minutes this time and put it back in, then put the car on ignition, bridged the terminals and checked for codes, still 64 remains.

Haven't taken the car out for a drive, straight after putting the fuse back in i checked for codes and transmission error code 64 remains, wonder why?

    Any Ideas?

I think code 64 is for the lock up solenoid, If the car has not been moved, the conditions for the the lock up solenoid to be engaged have not been met. which may rule out a mechanical problem with the solenoid, as the fault has happened straight away.

The service manual also says on at-16 "there is no warning for diagnostic code 64" i.e no o/d light flashing, one of your symptoms is the o/d light, so this means there may be more then one problem,

I recommend trying to clear the code by disconnecting the battery, then re check for codes with out staring the car, if its still there you will probably have to check all the wiring as per the service manual.

I don't know if this is making any sense as its past my bed time

A couple of weeks ago I had the same problem with my MX83, transmission codes 62,63, and 64. It was found to be a problem at an electrical connector in the harness to the transmission located up near the starter motor. (1 broken wire, another with bare wires possibly shorted)

Check that, it's one place where the circuits for all three transmission solenoids come together, and can easily come apart. IE "Severed"
