Default LS400: Manual conversion + Handbrake lever?!

    Hey people.
Been searching high and low but to no avail. this question been bothering me for awhile and right now i have kinda given up on searching on google cuz there hasn't beeen any results.
    Anyway!

We know that cars like LS400 to be converted to manual is very feasible, with lots of custom bellhousings lying around. But what i really wanna know is... is it possible to actually relocate the e-brake to the side of the gear shifter, like a normal manual car? We know that the LS400 or most, if not all mercedes models have a pedal e-brake, and that bothers me. We all want dori-dori action once in awhile, yanking the handbrake.

Is the handbrake mechanism related to the gearbox or is it the brakes? I also realise that this will also be a custom work, placing the handbrake lever to the side of the shifter. Might require some cutting of panels.

In short... is this job feasible? Is it actually possible to add a handbrake lever, that was once non-existent on the LS400, at the side of the gearshifter? and most important of all, is this actually legal?

Wow thanks!! That "I've gots handbrake" part excited me a lot! Will read diligently!!

Hand brake was from 30 series Soarer. Under the Aristo there is a lever system that connects the rear two brake cables to the front single cable that goes to the foot-brake. We joined the new soarer hand brake to the leverage system.

Now this is getting somewhere.. does the LS400 have such leverage system as well??
