    Default Digital to analogue??

Ok guys as some of you know im doing a 1JZ in to a ra28... Problem may come up soon im thinking, how will i go about changing from the crappy digital dash to old school analogue dash/gauges/needle style? planning on using gauges supplied by speed hut. Is it just a matter of changing over to an analogue style sensor from say a supra or something?

Any info will be much appreciated or links to stuff i'll need

Use the sensor that speedhut supplies with the gauges.

Also, since when do RA28 have digital dashes?

    ok scratch that.

you mean switch style senders instead of sensor type ones. LOL.

Anyway, speedhut gauges that I got came with senders.

Your only issue may be getting an electrical signal for the speedo, but this can come from a electric sender off the gearbox. (like from a mx83 or so)

the soarer had the digital dash but i dont want to use that style LED dash in a 28 as will look silly

Nice speedo. Great news it's programmable for different pulses per km. You only need to arrange some style of sensor for it. It's possible to use the sensor utilized by ECU (used mainly for speed limiting and gear shifting), but the speedo may damage sensor's signal so it will be no longer seen by ECU. If it's the case you will need some additional circuit installed somewhere near the ECU. See my thread here

You won't have any problem with the tacho. For VVTI engines its signal is available off the igniter at dedicated tacho pin. I think it's that easy for non-vvti , too.

Just start doing something, usually solution comes along the way.
btw as I can remember older engines (non-vvti) use the kind of speedo sensor that is easier to deal with, so first of all try just connecting your speedo to the sensor in parallel with ECU input and see what happens.

    Default !~

The stock auto should have a sensor that used to go to the dash already

Should work fine with the speedo you've linked to!

The stock sensor is on the drivers side, 3 pin plug.

See this thread for a pic / more info
