check engine main relay and fuse to ECU
u got any power to the coil?
Just bought a car, bought it with the engine not running and I'm now trying to get it going, its a jdm rwd bigport.
Apparntly the morning i went to pick it up he said it started first thing, ran for about 5 mins then died. Now wont start again
Its not getting any spark
help please
Ive checked basics
check engine main relay and fuse to ECU
u got any power to the coil?
Yea power to coil just no negative trigger to other side
fuse to ecu is fine.
engine main being the "blower relay" lol
righto ill check that
Ok so i went back tonight for anothe rlook
checked the main pins at the ecu
Earth pins are earthed, batter pins have battery
However this pin IGt i take by the information below (gathered from club4ag) is supposed to have a positive signal when the engine is firing.
Can anyone confirm this as this pin has no power on it.
IG t Black/Blue Igniter Assembly Ignition timing signal
The coil has ignition on both sides which I'm sure is how its supposed to be untill the distributor sends a negative signal to the negative side, which it is not doing.
I also have to work out why i no longer have fuel pump working, the circuit opening relay has a positive out put to the fuel pump when its cranking over but its still not operating/priming.
Ahh can anyone help me, I'm starting to think that a dizzy change is on the cards
Cheers
yo
my ae86 book tells me that IGT-E1 should have 0.7 - 1.0 v when idling...
oh the fuel pump doesn't prime either. i got caught out with that
when you flick you're ignition from start back to on (during starting) you'll hear it
Hmm well bit hard to test that cause it wont idle lol
Um yea na it dosent even prime when u hit start for like 1 second. Not working. But seems the relay for the fuel pump (circuit opening relay) is working cause it has an + output to the fuel pump wire.
Hmm
sounds like dizzy or igniter might be the issue.
ie: ecu not getting signal from dizzy telling it to fire.....OR....its getting signal but the ignitor is not telling the coil to spark.
u checked to make sure the rotor is actually rotating when the engine is turned over (not a broken cam belt)
Been over that thoroughly
mmm i hate cars lol
dude is the rotor button spinning when you're cranking?
hinting at a broken timing belt?
I honestly thought to check but forgot lol, havent had it off as i figured theres no spark even geting to it yet lol
yeah
just check first mate.....just to be sure
