You can and it will work 98% perfect, You may end up with a slight whine at about 90klm , You wont have this trouble using new gears provoiding you set them up right.

Hey guys, i know the centers can be swapped with work and effort and money
But what about crown and pinion gears?
I want to get a set of 3.9 crown and pinion gears, and they are alot more common in the IRS diffs by the looks of things, so if i source a live carrier and a irs set of gears, can i bolt in a live LSD and put all of this into a LIVE G series rear end?
Cheers,
Jase

Ahh, i remember that conversation now... So i can get them new from toyota for millions of dollars
Can i get any late model IRS G series or late model hilux Live rear end? Are all the gears virtually interchangeable?
Also, are the carriers from later model hilux live rear ends the same as the early model rear ends?

4.875 ratio Hilux live centres have a different offset to the numerically lower ratios and will not accept IRS gears
Jealousy is a curse
I dont know if that will cause issues for me, as i have a live LSD center, which im quite sure wouldnt have been 4.8 as when i bought them, i was told they were from later model hilux, and was told they will suite 3.9 ratios. Also that my 4.8 is far to high for my car, i should get 4.1 or 3.9 and use the LSD supplied...
Cheers,
Jase
