Can't you take the old bearing to CBC or similar and get it matched up to a new one?
i am replaceing the bearing in a sc12 clutch and the one i was given was perfect in OD and ID but not in height. tried it anyways but will not work if seated into the pulley.
anyone that has replaced this bearing happen to remember or have written down the part number of the bearing you used?
thanks.

indeed, thats basicaly how i got the first bearing, though it was measured still in the pulley and was not the correct height. the shop has the whole bearing now for measurement and hopefuly order the correct one tomorow.
i am sure there are people here though that have replaced this bearing and put the thread up incase they still had the part number for the bearing they used. at least then it could be a searchable subject with a quoted part number for others that may be looking for the same thing.![]()
got my bearing today.
apparently the exact correct one cannot be sourced (please note this is for the 120mm smallport sc12 clutch), Nachi do not do/import/what ever that bearing anymore, and was one of them specific made for that s/c clutch. blah blah...
anyways the original bearing measurements are 47mm OD, 30mm ID, 21.95mm height. it's part number from what i can read on it is; Nachi 30BG04S13DST2.
the bearing i got to replace it measurements are 47mm OD, 30mm ID, 20.95mm height. the inner race is 20.95mm, the outer race is about 2mm less. the clutch pulley only relies on the inner race for position and the locking nut. so this bearing i did not knock all the way to the recess in the clutch (like the 1st one i got and had to munt it getting it back out!!), i knocked it until the inner race was inline with where the original bearing was seated (old mark could just be seen). the 1mm less in bearing height was fine as there was enough thread on the shaft for the locking nut to tighten.
the bearing is a Koyo 83A693CCS30. also what can be used is a Koyo 83A693ACS30. (which is what i ended up with today). the only difference in these 2 bearings is the inner race has 2 cut outs on it. i dont know why the bloke didnt get me the other one he had got before with-out the cut outs.
^bearing i got today^. .. ^ original bearing^.
when i was looking at the bigport sc12 125mm clutch i noticed the bearing has a larger OD. it is a Nachi 30BG05S2DS 52mm OD, 30mm ID and 21.95 height.
the bloke at the bearing shop rekons this might be a more easier sourced bearing as it's dimensions are very simular to a/c clutch bearings. if i have time tomorow before i head out to work i'll see if he can give me a part number for one.

can't run a 1mm spacer cut from a bit of pipe?

well you most probably could if you had the time and gear to machine the correct shim/spacer to fit in front of the bearing to space it correctly from the pulley recess.
When I replaced the bearing in mine, it was on the shelf. No idea what size it was...Originally Posted by feral4mr2

just been to the bearing shop, the bearing that supercedes the original 125mm clutch bearing is a Nachi 30BG05S2G-2DS. it's a off the shelf item as you said Ben.
pity the smaller 120mm one isnt!
