my poosar has fucked (and i mean really fucked) engine mounts but i dont get vibration through i do get the sound of the engine causing the mounts to knock against the chassis but thats it, no vibrations
i would be agreeing with brett on this one. altho none of us have seen the car, but the last time i had a huge vibration like the one you are describing it was because the flywheel was not tightened correctly/ bolts came loose. if there is any kind of access pannel i would be defiantly looking in at that side of things.

It was an engine mount...
Well kinda.
A stray bolt i dropped and couldnt find in the engine bay a few days ago wedged itself in under one of the engine mounts.
This meant that the engine mount wasnt doing anything and it was just working as a solid mount... hence the huge vibrations through the car.
Im very happy it was an easy fix (tho, took me a while to find).
Thanks all!!

Good news!
I had the same problem in my mums car. Drove fine but while parked it would vibrate like crazy. Turned out the rear engine mount had worn through and the inner bolt sleeve was sitting on the engine mount internal ring. I wonder why the vibrations went away though while driving? Higher revs - smoother vibrations?

Lesson to all... ALWAYS locate dropped bolts!! Spend the time and find the bastards.
Good that it wasn't anything major.

i once found a 12mm socket in the sump of a tn magna, asked the owner if they had lost it and apparently it was lost seven years ago, i couldent find amy dammage to the crank or other parts down there.
i even got to keep the socket, still have it to this day.

The socket wouldn't be too good any more. It would be way too Magnatic![]()

sometimes its just best to leave em there. acts as a baffel in the sump to help prevent oil surgeLOL
