Help wanted: 1g alternators info?

Hi there people,

My 1ggte alternator has crapped itself and im wondering if anyone knows if any of the other g series alternators are able to fit and work on my motor? maybe the 1geu and 1ggeu ones fit? Or will it have to get one from a 1ggte engine?

all the 1g's(1ggte, 1geu, 1ggze) i've seen used the same alternator, I have even been told that they use the same alternator as a 7m, but cant confirm that.

Are you sure dude, that the g series ones are all adaptable? Because i ve got one from a 1geu and i could use that one then.

How come you haven't tried it yet?

A lot of toyota alternators, while not identical, are interchangeable. For instance a 7M-GE alternator can be used on a RWD 4AGE but the plugs end up in a different spot.

Because the car was meant to be getting a WOF at the shop today not frying the alternator. AS soon as i get one they can chuck it in there and continue with tuning.
