    1- Drain oil
2- remove drive shafts from centre
3- remove backing plate from diff
    4- remove stub axles
    5- remove bearing retainers
6- remove centre and unbolt and remove crown gear
7- unbolt and remove crown gear from new centre and replace with crown gear from old centre
8- put new bearings in new centre(make sure to cover with oil), put in place, and put on bearing retainers
9- if im correct, there will be locking rings, they should have gone in with the bearings and screw into the bearing retainers... these need to be tightened up so that the lash on the gears are correct, and the bearings are tight(but still smooth)
10- install new stub axle seals and install stub axles
11- install backing plate with new sealant
    12- install drive shafts
13- fill to correct level with correct grade of oil.

Personally, I should be able to do this in a few hours (well practiced from ford 9"s) but may take many hours. The new bearings should be pressed on in advance, may require taking into a diff shop if you dont have access to a shop press. It would be an idea to spend the extra time and change over your diff pinion seal too, and pinion bearings... these can be tapped out and back in carefully with a hammer. The old bearings should be used when tapping the new ones in so as not to have impact on the rim of the new bearing... if your not sure on this, take it to a diff shop.

Of course, this is if your just swapping centres over. It may seem easier to just swap over the whole carrier, but you still should change all seals and bearings while you have it out, saves heartache in the long run.

read the firewall, if the axle code says G**5 then u already have a torsen. JZA70's came out with factory torsens where as ga70s came with opens and ma70s got clutch lsd's.

it was a locked diff in there, and the one i bought is a torsen. i have the whole housing not just the centre's so hopefully it wont be too much work. I was wondering if there is any market for my old diff, i wouldnt mind making some of the money back i paid for this one.
thanks heaps Omanra23, gave me a good idea for what im up for.

Mate, some of the offroaders with hiluxes or landcruisers might want it... could possibly get most of what you paid for the LSD back if you find a dumb one.

was thinking also someone who would want it for racing.
will try and have a crack at it this weekend and let youknow the results. since the turbo's have seperate exhausts that actually go all the way to the muffler they kindalook in the way. would it be easiler if they were removed before having a go at the diff ? or is the housing small enough to remove without dismanteling the exhaust ?

offroaders will normally pay more... and not being familiar with your vehicle, i couldnt say how easy/hard it will be to get at... jack it up, crawl under and find out the hard way.
