    Default Sparking Ignition Coils

Is there a way to bodg up coils that are sparking and sapping all power out of my girlfriends VW Passat.

I tried spraying them with this electrical silicone stuff (like WD40 but 50,000 years older) and it made it better but not much.

or should i just get some from another car at the wreckers.

For everyone's information the car will be gone very soon so i don't want to go spending money on it.

clean the outside properly.. they will be arcing along the conductive surface crud.

    or.. the coils are cracked..

have a look at night to see where the spark is coming from/going to... but cleaning the conductive crud is your first step.. just spraying is not enough.. wipe it down also.

There cracked, apparently a common problem with VW's

and I counted about 8 different spots it was arcing from! all about 3cm away from the other spots, so its fair to say there well f**ked.

I'll try cleaning them anyway, should I use a solvent? like Prepsol or something.

if they are cracked.. new ones...

or try to fill cracks with epoxy
    (after cleaning)
