On the back of your standard steering wheel there is a bronze ring. This ring has two holes in it one at 3 o clock and one at 9. These holes catch on pins when the wheel turns and they cancel the indicators.
Your boss kit will not have these holes so in order to get the indicators to cancel you will need to drill two holes into the brass ring on the back of the boss kit. They need to be in the same position as the standard wheel.

) but after i did that the indicators wont self cancel anymore. I didnt like the thought of this so I put the original wheel back on. Didnt change back, could it have been getting the original wheel off I damaged the combination switch for the indicator stork? theres no real mechanism i can see that visibly makes the stork return to its original position, so it must be in the collumn itself?
