Default What is this? (1JZ fuel block thingo) - ANSWER: Fuel Pulsation Damper.

Anyone tell me what this is and what it does?

All i know is it sits inline with the fuel in line and the fuel rail?

Can't be a FPR because theres already one on the end of the fuel rail...

Apparently US guys bypass this thing to increase flow? I haven't done it as haven't needed to.

so has anyone removed this thing and experienced any problems?

im wondering if it will be hampering flow when your reaching the upper limit of say 650cc or 800cc injectors?

someone stick one on a flow bench!!

I haven't had one installed since the conversion was done. I don't know if this is making a difference. I do seem to have a problem with surging when driving under 1500rpm. I just don't know if it's the ISCV or the throttlebody or something else.

i sent an email to turbosmart asking if their fuel pressure regulators required the use of the factory fuel pulsation dampers... this is what they said.

Now that sparks the question, does it cause a flow restriction? and if so at what flow rate? :/
