    Default 4age dizzy heat protection?

    hi all

just got my car running and after a "test and tune" shesh once the extractors got some heat into them i found that i was missing half a dizzy cap.

i was wondering what would be the best way around it?

i was thinking of bending up some sheet metal and some how fasting it, to act like a heat sheild mabe some dinamatt too?

    anyone had this problem ?

it's a common problem, the #1 header runner almost always runs directly under the cap.

Some headers have a heat coating that may reduce the temps enough... I've also seen a few distributor heat shields available (as you said bent sheet metal). I spent $30,00 2 or 3 years ago for mine... it fits nicely

Information is POWER... learn the facts!!

hmmm the extractors have some heat temp coating on them all ready but, when there glowing red i dont think it's doing much

might give the sheet metal idea a go tomorrow and wrap the dizzy in heat proofing

Can't you just get one from a AE92, they all had the heat shields from Factory, propably cost $10

A little bit of exhaust wrap around that section of the no 1 runner also helps.
