AFAIK the RT142 IRS setup is identical to the RA65 setup, althought maybe some RT142's had disc rears?

The SA63 uses a T-series diff, but the bushes should all the same.

Also have a look at Kings/SuperPro when it comes to suspension.

I'm pretty sure that the RT142 had solid rear disks; I believe they are otherwise the same as RA65. Also nolathane for bushes.

Pretty sure almost every IRS RT142 had 4 wheel discs, the ones with drums ie me have the Live rear axle setup. Get some KYB shocks, springs either kings dobinsons etc or custom through king to whatever rate/height you want.

Whiteline won't actually make anything bar maybe swaybars for them. They don't produce anything for them interms of shcoks springs etc.

Thus they'd just be ordering in dobinson springs and KYB shocks anyway with markup. They don't like doing this anymore as they are just too busy with selling there own packages. For kyb look at some of the auto one stores in Campeblltown and minto, they regularly have 30% off the kyb shocks.

I have dobinson standard height Heavy duty springs all round, KYB rear shocks and monroe GT gas upfront. Not the best setup but definately a shitload better than stock.

i rang a few different places and noone has listings for kyb shocks for the rt142. Originally i had planned to chop the stock springs and replace the shocks. that is why i was wondering if they ra65 had the same setup so at least i could look for shocks under that number

For the front? No, you'll need RA6x struts.

Koni denies having shocks for the MA61 yet it is also clearly listed in the same catalogue.

thats the rear for you cos you have IRS

For the fronts just use RA6X struts and get whatever shocks you want for them.

Whatever you do don't chop the springs I'll personally come and kick your arse if you do. They are so fucking cheap cutting corners (literally) is just stupid.

if your after bang for buck falcon springs choped with diff oil in the shocks or commodore shocks is what i am running but i've got a live rear could'nt be to diffrent

or you could go down the road of coilovers s13-s15 coilovers are cheap and pleantiful should'nt be to hard to set up

so what about if i just buy shorter harder springs would it bounce heaps due to the lack of shock power

yep you got it corona std shocks have the pooest rebound rate even monroe's are like a foam

remeber the spring may be heavy/harder (ie high in the spring rate) but it's only as good as the shocks that are a companing it

for shocks just run down to the local pick and pocket and check out some of the larger cars ie live diff commodres, toronas thats just of the top of my head but yeh thats the best bang for buck solution

just curious as to whether anyone has bolted RT142 rear disks onto a RA65.

also, what parts specifically are required... trailing arm, handbrake cable???...
