Default 20v pistons on a smallport

could u use 20v pistons on a smallport 4age to get a higher comp ratio without hitting valves
what compression ratio would it be and would it run ok on 98ron fuel and a stock ecu
    thankyou

*IF* you choose to mix 16V head and 20V piston you automatically accept that it is an interference engine... and if you break a timing belt.... its bent valves and possibly damaged pistons.

    Also... WHICH 20V piston???

I doubt they would be interchangeable as the 20v pistons have the cut sections for the 3 inlet valves, as do the 16v items have 2 cut sections, one would assume putting a 20v piston in a 16v smallport would create all sorts problems with slap/detonation/smashed pistons

having said that, i have never tried it, nor do i know of anyone that has tried it, so it may very well work, i just really doubt it.

Do some searching on club4ag ( http://forums.club4ag.com/ ) I KNOW there are some folks who run 20V pistons under 16V heads

you would only have big problems with that when a timing belt would break. but i would guess it would work but the squish area would be totally different and shit like that so the compression would be a lot higher as well.
