    Default boost 1GGTE

hey got a controller and running 14PSI on my twins ... run great no problems just wondering if the turbos are meant taper off or if they are fairly good at holding the pressure ..? on the gauge it goes to 14 and stays there but you can feel either a pressure drop or the boost flatlines you know you get the initial pull up to 14 then it feels dull if that makes sense just wondering why ..? not a big deal as the second i have enough cash im going y pipe and a singly GT30 with fmic ....... maybe its the stock fmic even causing the dull feeling .. any help would be good ... oh and no there is no vacc leaks or anything like that all turbo pipes are tight and no cracks in the original fmic air to air its a gen3 too by the way .. any help thanks in advance

have you had it on a dyno to do a caparison b4 and after or is it just what it feels like while driving? torque will generally drop off straight after full boost in a factory vehicle.

is it pinging at all? that can give a retarded feeling up top aswell.

its too broad a question to answer in specifics but if there is some more info i could give you a better answer.

    cheers

    Question Re: boost 1GGTE

there is no pinging .. no cut offs hit yet ... yeah it kinda feels like the torque is tapering that makes sense when i got the car it was stock 140km no mods rebuilt heads and turbs boost at 7,9,10 no tapering 13+psi and there is a taper but its not like anything is cutting out cause it still pulls you along just not as strong as when your climbing onto boost maybe the lil ct12s are just having trouble holding 14psi at high revs

i aint sure....but i know what you mean.....i have felt it....as it approaches 5.5 the acceleration becomes more linear....now that i think about it i know what you mean.....then again mine is auto as well.....possible auto slip?? (stallies are built to stall) but is it possible that it is slipping excessivly??

I know once the A340-E starts to acquire more power 2nd gear eventually roots itself!!

The boost will level off at high revs with the wastegates on them thats normal with your average boost tap. You will find that it will reach 14psi and may drop back to 12-13psi and then boost back to 14psi in the next gear, it will not hold and maintain consistant boost levels electronic b/c do. It doesnt matter if its auto or manual its the b/c itself.

At 14 PSI the stock Intercooler is a huge restriction, maybe getting a larger one will help maintain the boost levels.

^^ i ran 22psi through the standard motor (xhaust, pod filter, manual boost controller and safc)

at that pressure it is sooo inefficient...but you really felt it cum on boost

and it lasted!!!!!...it was an attempt to blow the turbos to stick that big single on it, which now resides in the jza70..

    Super Air Flow Converter!!

it is basically a signal interrupting device.....it take the AFM's signal, as well as a few other signals and changes them to make the ECU think sumthin different is actually happenning...it is used for tuning mixtures!!!

piggyback style ECU, with the C bit, it doesnt control just changes signal voltage!
