    Question BOV which is best?

I am in the market for a blow off valve for my 18RG turbo motor.
What is the best type / brand ?
what would be the best size to suit T03/04 hibrid turbo (350)hp?

    thanks
    Shane

aparantly the stock r33 gtr blow off valves are quite good and seeing as tho alot of gtr owners ditch em for aftermarket ones should be a few floating arround

almost any aftermarket BOV will support you turbo. But the question is do you one that vents into the atmo, (illiegal according to epa and poilice) or one that vents back through the intake?

    thats it,
you could go and get yourself some masive 50mm BOV, but just about any quality one on the market (turbosmart, GFB, and anything jap) will do fine.
but if your looking for a cheap bosch type, then i'd be looking into the 911 turbo one.

the differences between atmo and plumback are neg (performance wise) the only thing is the ecu doesn't know whats going on when the atmo bov opens (at least with a motor using a AFM)

I'd be assuming given it's a custom turbo application you won't be using an AFM. That said, I'd still be going a recirculating one out of preference and for legal reasons.

    Very True what JCMF says.

Best to stay with oem type. As Turboshitmart, GFB and whatever are piston type bov's made in China quality that run springs to set pressure. if you were to get a venting one HKS and SARD is the closest to OEM design.

It's what happens when you run a atmo venting BOV on an AFM motor.

Not running air flow meter just quad throttle body with air box over them.
but may have to use plumb back for EPA test.
Isn't GFB made in OZ there are here in sydney?
for cost I was going to spend up to $200.

    lol, owned.

Yep, when your computer is adding the correct amount of fuel for your metered air, and you're letting out some of your air, you're going to run rich every time.

I run a bosch BOV myself and it's perfect for my application. The only thing I hear is my turbo spooling up sucking air, no flutter or psssssh. It's also black and nondescript and the best thing, it was only $60 from repco.

I've heard the bosch though are only good for a limited amount of PSI (about 15PSI), then they start bleeding the air. So if you're after 300HP from your 18RG, I think you'll be pushing those limits.
