Default megasquirt wiring db37 to 4age loom

I've built and tested an MS2 v3 so my last task is to connect it to the loom. It is going on a bigport 4age in a sprinter I intend to use all the 16v sensors and direct coil driver from the MS2 with VR input from the dizzy.

My question is - What's the best way to wire the MS2 to the loom?

Option 1 - Take the stock plugs off the loom and wire it to the db37.
Option 2 - Wire up a harness/link cable to join the MS2 to the loom.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I'd suggest Option 2 as you can build the patch loom as a diagnostic port (e.g. 4AGE ECU connector on a board that has test spots for each pin then a tail with DB37 plug) - that way you can look at the output of every sensor and driver from the one spot and not have to open up any clips or sheaths.

much like MegaScott's "Ford EEC-V to megasquirt" adaptor board.

Thanks Charles. My preference was option 2 merely for the sake of not having to try and make wiring reach. However, the idea of putting a test board in between is brilliant.

option 3: wire the MS into an old ECU case using the stock plug?

not sure if they fit tho?

If you're suggesting putting the MS into the old ECU case, I've got a perfectly good MS case cut to fit, but I was planning to put Chuck's suggested test board in the original case and do some cutting to accommodate the MS cable.
